Dear Chris and Amandeep, my sincere and deepest condolences to you. As you know your mother was my best friend...We became friends in preschool at 4yrs old, when we discovered we had the exact birth date. We stayed friends through out our lives...I was heart broken that I couldn't attend her funeral...Please know that you are always in my prayers. May God comfort you and guide you always. There are no words that really express how sorry I am that Auntie Ingrid has passed away. You are in my thoughts and prayer.

I was saddened to hear of Indra's passing. She was a dear friend to my sister, and helped raise my niece, Olivia. I'm lucky enough to have a set of her recipes, and will always think of her when I'm preparing them. Wherever she may be, I know she is laughing, shopping, and cooking with Sohi.

My dearest friend and you were my family. My heart is in shock over the loss of you. Mere words cannot describe whAT you meant to me. I loved you so much you were always in my corner. Your beauty filled a room with your presence, your heart was filled with emotion and joy for life and those you loved. I will forever hold you close to me in my heart. Christopher and armadeep . Indra, as she was lovingly called by her beloved husband Sohi, was a blessing for me as a single parent. She helped me raise my daughter, Olivia, into a smart, funny, and happy teenager. She also became my dear friend and shared her Indian cooking recipes with me to measure from pinches and handfuls into tablespoons and teaspoons. So many people are still enjoying those recipes. I still wonder what people thought when they saw Olivia with an Indian family at Multnomah Falls or the Oregon Coast. : ) Indra was a gem in my life.

Dear Ingrid,

I never had the pleasure of meeting you, but I was lucky enough to know your son Amandeep. I'm sure that you already know this, but you raised a fine child. I see so much compassion, intelligence, humor, and grace in him. Thank you for being an amazing mother, and bringing this light into the world! I hope that wherever you are, you are at peace knowing that you will be remembered by your family, friends, and even strangers (like me!) who were touched by your story. Happy journeys.
