Iola Francom Obituary

Iola Francom Iola Christensen Francom, passed away April 16, 2005, after a 17-year health battle from a head trauma. She was born January 22, 1929, in Garfield, Utah, to Lafey M. and Katie S. Iversen Christensen. Married, Carl LuRay Francom, April 11, 1946, in Elko, Nevada. Iola served in the LDS Church in Primary and Relief Society presidencies. She loved reading, crocheting, singing in the choir, traveling; and, she especially loved her children, grandchildren, and animals. Survived by two sons and three daughters: Kevin Francom, Lehi; Kent (Kerri) Francom, West Jordan; Carla (Adrian) Alldredge, and Jan Francom, both of Lehi; Julie (Darrell) Mills, Portland, OR; 21 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Christensen, Kearns. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant daughter, brother, and sister. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at 2:30 p.m., in the Levan City Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the Wing Mortuary, 118 E. Main, Lehi, Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m.; and Wednesday, from 10-11 a.m.

I have been out of town for a week and just got back. I was very sad to find out about your moms passing and that I missed seeing all of you. It was just 3 weeks ago that we were at the Levan Cemetary visiting moms grave on her birthday and I was showing my kids where Uncle Carl's grave was. I am glad that they are together again. I am sorry to hear of Aunt Iola's passing. While driving past Levan just last week I was thinking about Uncle Carl and Aunt Iola. I remembered many deer hunting trips up Chicken and Pigeon Creek with the family as well as getting together at Grandma and Grandpa Francoms home. She is a good lady and will be thought of often.
