Iona Davis

DAVIS, Iona Faye, age 71, of Colonial Heights, Va., passed away on Friday, November 26, 2010. She was born in Chattanooga, Tenn., the daughter of the late John J. and Lennie L. Burnette. Major Davis worked for the Salvation Army as an ordained minister for 31 years before retiring. Her focus was in women's programs and outreach programs. Major Davis is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Major William D. Davis; children, Bryan Davis of Colonial Heights, Tim Davis and his wife, Maribel, of Sterling, Va., and Jennifer Dodd and her husband, Brack, of Dallas, Texas; and grandchildren, Danielle and Matthew Davis. The family will receive friends at the Chesterfield Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions are made to The Salvation Army, 2 West Grace St., Richmond, Va. 23220.
