I was so worried about Ira, that I called for about 2-3 days, but got no answer. We were suppose to go to lunch, bc I had removed his back room air conditioner for him, he always offered me money, I would never take it. So instead, he took me to lunch , bc he said, he just wanted to do something for me. I was always helping my little buddy out. I helped him pick out his big screen TV, I set it up for him , so it would play thru his house speakers . I setup his bedroom stereo setup, his Kitchen TV w/ the converter, which I scanned for him each month. He was such a pleasure to be around, to chat with, laugh, and I enjoyed when I saw him out back & he asked about my Dogs. But when I noticed his car parked in the same spot for 3 days & not moved, I started to worry. I spoke w/one of the neighbors, bc I was going to call the Police, but then we were thinking, because he had to walk on the Ice, down his block, to get to his car,he probably slipped on the ice, and broke his leg, and he's in the hospital. As it turns out, I was wrong, and I'm so sorry that my Buddy is no longer here. His memory lives on ! He was a good friend. Bye Ira.

Ira was a good friend. We worked together for many years at the U.S. Attorney's office and we both retired last year. We met once a month for the national association of retired federal employees meetings. I will miss talking with him and sharing memories about our office. God Bless you Ira! You will be missed by many of us.

I met Ira almost 30 years ago when I first came to Philly and joined the US Attorneys office. At that time he controlled all supplies and equipment. Everyone relied on him and he never let us down. He was a conscientious employee and good friend who always made time to discuss the old days. I will long recall that twinkle in his eye and his constant smile. My condolences to his family and friends. He was truly one of the good guys
