Mama Hill, you have truly been missed, but your name continues to live on through us. There´s never a time where Nay and I are speaking of you and how things were when you were here. Because of your namesake, we consistently hear your name when others aren´t able to pronounce Nays government name LOL and she´s perfectly fine with that because it´s your name. I know you are smiling down on us with the way our lives are going. Some days are hard but every day is good and not a day goes by without us praying and keeping the faith. I pray that you are always pleased with our choices. I´ll continue to look for signs of you, through birds butterflies and your roses that grow in numbers of our family members who are deceased. I love and miss you so much Mama Hill, continue to Rest In Peace

And so it was six months later. I found my way to the obituary guest book of my dear "Auntie". The comments I have read are outstanding and truly sum up the kind of life auntie lived. I miss her humor and serenity. Although I miss her very much, I am reminded of ISAIAH 57:1-2 "The righteous perishes, and no man takes it to heart; Merciful men (women) are taken away, while no one considers that the righteous is taken away from evil. He (she) shall enter into peace, they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his (her) uprightness." With all the evil we have to face, Auntie, her parents, and sibilings do not have to face evil anymore. I am so glad I got to spend time with her before her illness and subsequent death. I thank God for "Auntie" who looked after my mother (her sister), during her illness and subsequent death. May God continue to bless you Dot, Henry, Amy, Mayola, and Joyce as you all go forward with your lives. And your children, and grand children also. Love you all!!! Your cousin Ronnie Brown.

Dot, I am so sorry to hear about your Mama. I'm sorry I didn't contact you sooner, but I want you to know that I have been thinking about you and your family. The Word say " with long life will I satisfy you," and
God has definitely done that for your mother. Please know that my heart is with you in spirit. You and your family are in my prayers.

Dorothy, Keisha, I'rene & family:
"Earth has no sorrow that heaven can not heal." Please know that we are praying for you during this difficult time. What a blessing both of our families have experienced; to have had our loved one for 91 years and then to know that they are now where they have prepared themselves to be--in heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Continue to cherish the many wonderful memories you have of your Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother! Be comforted by God's love.

Mama Hill,
Still doesn't seem real.I will always remember how we stayed into it constantly.lol. You always stayed on me about cooking and keeping my husband happy:-).I can never forget waking up in the mornings to the smell of your grits, eggs, and sausage! You always kept the family fed no matter what! You got on me about how short my dresses were, and you kept me laughing about your many boyfriends that none of us ever got to meet:-). I miss you so much and I appreciate all the times we shared together and the Godly advice you gave me through it all.I love you and I pray that every life that you have touched, shows their gratitude by living their life in a way that you taught and would be proud of!

"Ms. Irene" you will truely be missed. I can remember some of the talks we shared that no one knew we had and all the encouragement that you gave me. You are truely a woman of virtue and I feel blessed to have had the opportunity for you to be a part of my life. God blessed you with long life and now you deserve to take your rest in the Lord. I love you always.

Mama Hill,
I never thought I would have to face the day where my words were gonna be expressed in other ways besides kissing you on your cheek and telling you that I love you and asking if you love me back. Im gonna miss you and not a day goes by that I wish this was all a dream but Im praying for my selfishness to be removed because God needs you and He knows best. Im so thankful to have you as my grandmother. It seems like yesterday where Daddy Nelson, and I would be up late at night eating TCBY ice cream and drinking coffee and graham crackers while you were in the room on your knees praying for hours seem like it..But when you got up you would fuss telling me to get to bed. There's not enough words to show the appreciation I have for everything you've done for me.
Who is Mama Hills? A Virtuous Woman. Her Character as a Wife was rare, precious, trustworthy and kind. Her effectiveness as a mother, she manage her home, very praiseworthy and distinguished and Her excellence as a person she was God fearing and honored.

MaMa I'm gonna miss you, your smile and warm embraces. You and I go a long way back. When so many thought I wasn't going to live as a chiled you prayed me back. Even through all my faults and failures you still believed in me. You have been the strength and back bone of this family, community and your church. I know without a doubt you are with Daddy Hill, T-Alma, My Dad, My Step Dad and my baby girl. You were loaned to us for a life time but in God's sight it was only an instant. Heaven needs a Grandma too.
Love you

I had the privilege of taking care of Ms. Hills from time to time. Her family was very committed to caring for her and that was quite commendable. You all had many years with your mother and that is a beautiful thing. I keep in mind what Revelation 21:3 & 4 says: and he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore, the former things have passed away.
