Iris Johnson Kupfer

KUPFER, IRIS JOHNSON, beloved wife and mother, died Monday at age 81 after an extended illness. She was born in Jacksonville, Fla., and lived in the state her entire life. A marvelously talented pianist, she was a graduate of the Peabody Conservatory of
Music (now Johns Hopkins University) in Baltimore, Md., and of Rollins College in Winter Park. She taught music both privately and at Rollins and the University of Central Florida. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in downtown Orlando for more than 50 years. Iris met Fred Kupfer in Orlando in 1951, and, after a whirlwind courtship, married. They enjoyed a devoted and love-filled marriage for 56 years. Iris is survived by her loving husband Fred; her son Ben and his wife Diane; her son Fred; son Brian and his wife Darla, daughter April Medina and her husband, Carlos; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
