Irma was such an encouragement in my life. Her and Andy opened their home to us when we needed it, they hosted a bible study in their home and in the last couple of years she invited me to join her in a bible study at Cascadian place. She had such a great heart for others that they would come to faith in Christ. She chose to live at Cascadian, because she saw it as a mission field. Always caring about others no matter what she was going through. Irma we miss you. Say Hi to Jesus for us.

Irma Akins is one of my superheros. She constantly encouraged me, was always gracious, and never missed an opportunity to pray for me. Heaven is a sweeter place now that she is there. See you soon sweet sister!

Mary Ellen and Kristin - we are so sorry for the loss of your Mom, and are including you in our prayers. Irma was such a dear friend of Jon's Mom (Jackie Iseman) and she was so kind to us, always. She always was smiling and there for our family. We just learned of her passing this evening. I can only imagine the reunion she had with Andy. Blessings and prayers - and please let us know if we can help in any way.

Irma was a great friend and mentor to me as a rookie teacher at SJHS. She prayed for me and looked out for me. Several times she was a moral voice crying out in the wilderness of the education world. Rest well, good and faithful servant !

Irma and Andy were a wonderful couple who we knew from church in Snohomish. We miss them both, but rejoice that we will be together in glory someday. PTL.

I was very saddened to hear of Mrs. Akins' passing and would like to offer my condolences to her family. I had Mrs. Akins as a teacher in grade school and always remember her very fondly and with a great deal of respect. I had a very nice visit with her a couple of years back when we both attended a memorial for a mutual friend. During that visit she expressed excitement about a 90th birthday party that her children were planning but of course she didn't want them making a fuss about her. I will always remember her as a kind and caring person!
