Irvin Sopher Obituary

Dr. Sopher was born on October 19, 1936 and passed away on Monday, November 6, 2017. Dr. Sopher was a resident of South Charleston, West Virginia at the time of passing. The son of the late Isadore and Bessie Sopher, Irvin grew up in Baltimore where he attended Forest Park High School, developing an interest in biological science and sports cars, specifically the Corvette. After working as a forensic pathologist in the Maryland State Medical Examiner's Office, Irv served in the United States Army at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Silver Spring, Maryland. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 25, 5:30 pm, at B'Nai Jacob Synagogue.

I worked for Irv briefly as an Assistant Medical Examiner in 1975. He was a delightful, generous man.

Upon his departure from Baltimore he gifted me access to his 50 yardline pair of seats where I followed the Colts from 1975 through 1977. I will always remember his generosity and warm smile. I am sure he has been deeply missed.
