ISABELLE "SKIP" McCOY

I've known of Skip and the lives she touched. May God rest her soul ever peacefully.

I probably last talked to Skip 6-8 months ago. A son of one of her cousins, when I called I would introduce myself and she would respond "I know who you are." That always made me smile. She was so sharp. She brought the memories her grandparents, Noah and Etta Sherry, (my great-grandparents) alive and I enjoyed hearing about them. What a wonderful life! May all who grieve be comforted in memories that are greater than your sorrow.

Our Thoughts and Prayers are with your family. I remember as child coming to Mrs. McCoy's house around Christmas to get a tree for our home.

It saddens me you'll never know how many times I'd race outside as a boy and hope to see that smiling face of yours while you watered your plants in Oakdale and the utter disappointment that would wash over me if you happened to not be outside. You always had the best confectioneries for my brother and I. I vividly remember being in your presence for the final time just a year or two ago. It was magical because I finally got to hold conversation with you, listening to stories about your life, and was old enough to fully appreciate how powerful and important they were. I regret not being able to come see you last Christmas, I had some health problems that kept me somewhat immobile, but I know you'd find it in your heart to forgive anyone, it's just who you were. I'm better now and I know you're safe and secure as well. I love you, 'grandma next door'.
