As I arrive at Northwood for work ,I am reminded of the love You and Isabelle delivered to so many residents and families for so many years.

Dear Wallace,
Heartfelt condolences to you, Peter, Paul and Cheryl. As you know my friendship with Isabelle began in our school days in Loreto, Darjeeling and continued when she met you and we all used to get together at her parents' home, where we had some wonderful times. Isabelle was a warm and caring person and will be missed by all whose lives she touched. She is gone now and as Mother Teresa said: "Death is nothing else but going home to God" where she will be welcomed as the wonderful soul she was. Love, Pam d'Eça

To the Vardon family
Isabelle had so many gifts that she shared with others. My father was a recipient of several.Isabelle gave him encouragement and support as he faced medical issues ,the death of my mom,and being retired. She made him laugh and see the bright side .On numerous occasions ,she conspired with me to get him to follow through with decisions regarding his health and challenges of daily life.
Isabelle had a fierce love for all of the folks she encountered....even the cranky ones!
Because of her kindness and care about my father,I was given the opportunity to do the things I needed to do for myself.
She never looked for thanks or recognition. Her positive outlook made others feel good; her suggestions and ability to help clients sift through their issues gave them independence.
I will always be greatfull for having known this wonderful woman, who made a major impact on my family.

Dear Wallace and family

Please accept our sincere sympathy to all of you. As hard as it is to accept her passing, Isabelle knew it was her time. Your care for her at home during these past months brought her great comfort.

Isabelle was a very special lady, with a lot of love to give - to family, friends and all who were less fortunate that she. Not only was she deeply committed to helping others through the Stephen Lewis Foundation with the Rockingham Grannies, but it was her suggestion which started a group of sewers making Little Dresses For Africa. Because of her, 1700 dresses and shorts have been forwarded to the orphans of Africa and other countries in the past three years. Although she was no longer able to sew, Isabelle donated and encouraged others to donate fabrics for this project to continue.

Don and I feel very privileged to have shared her friendship and love - I am sure we are better because of it.

May she rest in peace.

Dear Wallace, Cheryl, Paul and Peter,

Suzanne, Peter, Andrew, and Robin share with you and your extended family in our loving memories of "Aunty Isabelle". From Bramalea to Bushrock to Halifax Isabelle was our calm in the storm, our champion and supporter, our caring and best friend. Isabelle taught 3 of the 4 of us how to cook, and taught all of us patience and unconditional love.

Dear Aunty Isabelle, I was so sad to hear that the world will no longer be graced by your presence. In my family you were always known as the epitome of gracious kindness and generosity of spirit (and, of course, as an excellent cook). The world will not be as nice a place without you.

Thinking of you and yours at this sad time, Uncle Wallace, Peter, Paul, and Cheryl.

It was an absolute pleasure and delight to meet Isabelle and Wallace, along with Cheryl, Peter, Paul and their respective families back in 2001. Isabelle spoiled us with her delicious cooking, while Wallace amused us with his jokes. They made us feel very welcome and very loved. Isabelle's gentleness and grace shined through to the end and she was a master at keeping her Wallace in check.... Champion woman! All the way from Australia, our thoughts and condolences are with you and we send big warm hugs from across the globe. Love from Laura, Reuben and Austin Slaney

The following poem is beautiful and I think would reflect Isabelle's sentiments:

MISS ME, BUT LET ME GO

When I come to the end of the road
and the sun has set for me,
I want no tears in a gloom-filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little, but not too much,
and not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that once we shared,
Miss me, but let me go.

This is a journey we all must take
and each must take alone;
It's all a part of God's perfect plan,
a step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick of heart
go to the friends we know.
Bury your sorrows in doing good,
Miss me, but let me go.

My dearest friends, the Vardon family
Isabelle was a gem for more reasons than can be noted in this space. She made a positive impact on many lives. Although our visits were often far between, I will never forget her love, genuine friendship, warm hugs and smile as she told a tale from Stuart MacLean. She will never be forgotten. Although a difficult time and not here in the physical sense, trust in her faith and that she will always be close and in your heart. Sending hugs to each of you, Love Cheryl L. Xox
