Knoxville, TN
Reverend Isiah Blackman, 66, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at University of Tennessee Medical Center. Veteran of US Army having served in Vietnam, Associate Minister at Payne Avenue Baptist Church, founding member of PEPP (People Empowering People Project, Inc. non-profit) and served in other organizations in the community. Survived by wife Betty Hamilton Blackman; children, Marcus Thompson, Washington, D.C., Nicola Hall Corbett, Memphis, TN and Racheal Moore, Texas; siblings; Mother Geraldine Greer, Elder Carl (Ann) Blackman, Sr.; Evangelist Mildred O. Bledsoe and Carolyn (Joe) Crutcher; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Carter and Sylvia (Don) Hemphill. A host of other family and friends including the Payne Ave Baptist Church and Morningside Garden families.
Family will receive friends Monday, November 26, 2018, 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., at Payne Avenue Baptist Church 2714 MLK Ave., Knoxville, TN.; funeral service 6:30 pm, Pastor R. S. Brown Sr. officiating. Interment, 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at East Tennessee State Veteran Cemetery, 2200 E. John Sevier Hwy. In lieu of flowers the family request donations sent to our PEPP at PO Box 14101 Knoxville, Tn 37914. Arrangements by JARNIGAN & SON MORTUARY

Saddened to hear Isiah has gone home, but rejoicing in Knowing he is Singing in that throne room!! Halleleujah!! We have never forgotton his kindness as you all moved next to us there on Linden, and yes, we do think about you often. GODS Comfort during this transition time!!
