Isobel Tate-Varty Obituary
With a song in her heart Isobel joined the Choir of Angel's on Tuesday October 17, 2023.
Isobel was born to Alexander and Elizabeth Jamieson on April 27, 1930 in Toronto, a little sister to Betty. Isobel was always a songbird and enjoyed a successful singing career before meeting her husband of 38 years on the floor of the Toronto Stock Exchange, Gordon Tate. Gordon and Isobel settled in Oakville where they raised children Alexandria and Gordon. Isobel was active in the Maycourt Club of Oakville, the Oakville Historical Society, Maplegrove and St. John's United Church choir, and the Ennisclaire Singers. Isobel was preceded by husband(s) Gordon in 1993 and Frank Varty in 2002, as well as dear friend William Hamel in 2015. Isobel will be lovingly remembered by daughter Alexandria (Robert) Smith of Caledon East, Gordon (Dorothy)Tate of Calgary, granddaughters Jordan, Kendra, Megan, and Madeline. Grandsons Pierce, and Myles, plus her loving great grandchildren. A service of remembrance will be held at St. John's United Church Oakville on Saturday November 4 @ 11:00 Family internment to follow at St. Jude's Cemetery Oakville. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Headwaters Heath Care Centre for their kindness and care. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Headwaters Health Care Centre, Orangeville, Ontario
