Peacefully on Sunday, February 19, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Eva for sixty-one years. Loving father and father-in-law of Michael and Susan, Richard and Dawn, Debbie and Phillip. Cherished Zaidie of Max, Eli, Benjamin, Abraham, Nathaniel, Sam, Isabel, and Noah. Dear brother of Kaila and the late Howard Wein, and brother-in-law of Ada and Doug Craniford. He will be missed by his nieces, nephews, family, friends and colleagues. Special thanks to Rose and Arthur, as well as the doctors, nurses and staff of K6 at the Jewish General Hospital for their compassionate care. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean-Talon St. W., on Tuesday, February 21 at 1:00 p.m. Burial at Temple Emanu-El-Beth Sholom Congregation Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield. Shiva at 493 Mitchell Ave., Mont-Royal. Shiva hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. In lieu of gifts or flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the "Dr. Israel Libman Memorial Fund" c/o the Jewish General Hospital Foundation, (514) 340-8251.

Israel and I go way back. In grade school, he lived next door and I would hear him practicing the violin. We were colleagues for many years - and friends.
My many memories are so present. my sincere condolences.

My condolences to the family. Thank you for 27 years of controlling my epilepsy. Great thanks for registered my name to the Hertz Family Clinic.
My life has changed by listening to his words of not being reliable to reliable seriously. I will never forget him.

I want to offer my condolences to the family of Dr. Isreal Libman. Dr. Libman has changed my life from not being serious to being serious in taking care of my epilepsy.
He took care of his patients with a lot of effort. He was there whenever I needed him.
I will never forget him. He took the effort and help me out to be a patient in the Hertz Family Clinic. Thank you Dr. Libman.

Our community lost a great Doctor and a great gentleman. We loved him and watched him walk back and forth to the JGH, All year round for app. 44 years. He will be missed by all those who were lucky to know him. May his sould rest in peace.

We send our deepest condolences. I go way back when Israel lived next to me and I hearrd his daily execise on the violin. We went to schooll together and trained toether. He is a great loss. We will all miss him.

Taking about the pleasures of music, etc. Seeing you both at the screenings of the opera when health issues made matters difficult. Still, the life force ...
