Lucy,

I was shocked to hear of Ivan's passing. I know how close you were with him. I lost my Dad a few months ago and know how painful it is to lose someone close to you.
My deepest condolences to you and your family at this most difficult time.
LIFE IS SO SHORT.

Dear Lucy, Ray, Kevin, Ibi and Josif, Caroline and Naomi and all the members of the family

It is with great shock and extreme sadness that we learnt of the death of Ivan. He was far too young to go. Ivan has always remained a member of our extended family and we have very fond memories of him. He was always so dynamic and spread his cheerfulness around him. We all saw him a long time ago when he came to London and Daniel got to know him better while visiting Montreal some 8 years ago.
Our thoughts go to all of you and especially to Naomi who has not had a chance to realise how wonderful and caring her father could be.

Please accept our deepest sympathy during a very sad time.

With all our love

We were sadened by the news conveyed to us by Evelyne about Ivan's sudden passing. We spent some pleasant time together in France and Israel in the early seventies as two young couples Evelyne&Ivan and us.
We extend our sincere condolences to all the loved ones that were left behind.

Brian and I were shocked and saddened to hear of Ivan's sudden passing. Ivan and I go way back to Hillcrest High School - I believe it was Grade 7 when he had just come to Canada from Romania. We later re-connected when we were both newly married and Ivan, Evelyne, Brian and I shared some wonderful times together. I last saw Ivan 3 years ago this month and met his wife Caroline and his best friend, Zorro. Ivan and I made plans to keep in touch, but somehow neither of us managed to find the time to do so. For you, Ivan - I am posting a beautiful picture that I never even got to share with you. Let there be a lesson here for us all. Brian and I extend our heartfelt condolences to all the loved ones that Ivan left behind. His spirit will be with you always.

When I heard the terrible and unbelievable news of Ivan's passing, I immediately (after shedding a few tears) thought back to when I first saw him at Hillcrest school in Chomedey (grade 6 or 7 I believe). We became very good friends (and neighbours) through high school and university. To my fault, we have not seen each other enough since university. I am overwhelmed by all the comments from Ivan's friends and colleagues which attest to his well-lived and good life. He was a great friend and helped me get through some tough math courses at McGill. In that other lifetime, we enjoyed watching and playing sports together (football, hockey, basketball, ping pong of course and later tennis). And forget the Porsche, remember his first blue racing bike? Joseph, Ibi, Lucy and Caroline : There is nothing much that can be said except life ain't fair. My friend Ivan's passing will remind me to cherish every day, something I have not done or thought about enough. Our mutual friend from Chomedey, Dr. Abraham Born, also offers his condolences.

Ivan,
We shared a bit of life some 30 years ago - it seems like yesterday. You are already gone, and I am very much present with the ones you loved. Although I am so far away, I share my grief with your beloved sister and family, your parents, Caroline and Naomi. Caroline, you gave him a child to leave a part of him in this world, a light to brighten the darkness. You are in my heart on this journey. Philippe joins me in this message of sorrow and sympathy.

I knew Ivan as both a competitor and a friend. He was someone who touched everyone he met in a most positive and warm way, truly unlike no other. I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing and remember him as a friend and someone of great kindness and a warm heart.

My thoughts and prayers are with Ivan's family in this time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

Yours very truly,

I came to know Ivan as a business partner for fifteen years. It is rare to meet an individual as sincere, passionate and loyal. Ivan made his life the way Ivan wanted it - no compromises, and his family always came first. My wife and I were privileged to feel his warmth and generosity as part of his extended family.

Our thoughts are with his family at this time of grief.

We are so saddened to hear of Ivan's sudden passing.

I worked with Ivan for many years, and fondly remember him as a great business partner, a person who was exceptionally kind and who always reached out to help others.

My wife Denyse and I were fortunate to travel several times with Ivan, and we loved his sense of humour, his genuine interest in people, and his love of life. He was a joy to be with. We will miss him very much.

To Caroline and Naomi, and all of Ivan's family, please accept our deepest sympathies.
