Ivy Maltby CARDINAUX

CARDINAUX, Ivy Maltby August 25, 1923 - September 2, 2015 Passed away after a lengthy illness. Ivy was 92. She was born in Berkley, CA and raised in San Francisco. She worked in the financial district of San Francisco during and after World War II. Ivy and her first husband, the late Charters Maltby, moved to Sonoma in 1974 where they built their beautiful, retirement home. Ivy very much enjoyed traveling, learning new cultures and even made friends around the world especially in France. She graduated with honors from Sonoma St. University, receiving a BA in French and European Studies. She always felt knowing a second language opened many doors. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church for 40 years as well as a member of and involved with the University Women of America, Cardinaux Scholarship Fund and the French Club. Her friends will remember her as generous, kind, helpful and loyal. Also preceding her in death was her son, Les Maltby of Sonoma, and her second husband, Henri Cardinaux. Ivy is survived by her children, Jean Maltby, and her partner, Roberta Goldfarb; her daughter-in-law, Kristina; grandchildren, Lauren Wheatly and Brett Maltby; great-grandchildren, Camille and Makenna Wheatly; and her sister, Patricia Logan. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 275 Spain St., Sonoma, CA 95476. Private Interment, Santa Rosa Memorial Park.
