Banks was a good friend I enjoyed talking to him early mornings on the ferry to Ft Fisher and occasionally see him at Beau Rivage. Rest in peace Banks-we will miss you.

Harriet and family. I was saddened to hear of the passing of Banks. We meet many people in life, but few make a lasting impact. Banks was one of those that made everyone's life better. I learned many lessons from him, not only about golf, but life and people. A great man that always had time for you and loved to share his knowledge. I entered and exited his life several times due to geography, but was always welcomed back. It was like we never had a gap in the time we were separated, we just picked up where we left off. I will truly miss his great personality and enthusiasm for golf and life. May god bless you all during this time. The world is a better place if you knew Banks.

My sincere condolences to the Guyton family on the recent passing of Banks. Our Family has known Banks for many years. I'll be forever grateful for the positive influence he had on my 2 oldest sons; with his mentoring and encouragement while Head Pro at Echo Farms, they both fell in love with the game of golf and ended up in the business as successful Superintendents at terrific golf courses. Banks was a real gentleman and first class individual who will be missed greatly.

Dear Harriet, Lisa, John and family:

I am so sorry to hear of the recent passing of Banks, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend to all of us who love the game of golf.

Banks was the first head professional at South Bend Country Club that I got to know as a golf writer and it truly saddened me when you all left to return to your true home. I spent a lot of time at the club covering events for the South Bend Tribune and also had the privilege to play the course many times. Banks and all of you made me feel just like I was a member, and the stories and laughter we shared were many and heartfelt. The best part, of course, was hearing Banks

Harriet, Lisa, and Dave,

I was sad to learn of the passing of Banks. I worked for you all at South Bend Country Club when I was in high school. I remember Banks taking me to the range to hit balls and help me with my game. Following college, I worked in the golf business for about 13 years, first as an assistant and then for the Indiana Section. I feel very fortunate to have been mentored by Banks and later by George Thomas and his family.

Just wanted you to know I was thinking of your family in this time of loss, and that Banks had an impact on me and my love for the game of golf.

To Harriett and Family - What a sad day today to find out Banks has passed away. I am so thankful that I got to know him (and you Harriett) while working at The Golf Academy. He was so generous and always willing to help me with my golf swing. I loved to hear his funny stories of the days he played competitive golf. My Father who met Banks one time will occasionally ask me about him. That says a lot about the impression he left on everyone. I'm praying for you Harriett.

Dearest Harriet, I am sad to learn of the passing of your dearest beloved Banks. You may not remember me but I met you and Banks (while tagging along with our mutual friends) Herman and Lori Williams. We initially met at the coast for what turned out to be a spectacular golf outing weekend celebrating Lori's bday in 2001. ( I was part of the Herman's Hackers Foursome). We then celebrated Herman's bday in Raleigh (at the old Steak N Ale House) and who can forget my stopping in every now and then (back in the day) at the Golf Academy. I will always recall Banks having this great sense of humor, a matter of fact personality with a pinch of humor and what a gentleman he was! I remember when I first met him, I thought he was Herman's father (as the two of them look so much alike) and I know Herman did look up to him. Many will miss him dearly.
I know your heart aches in this great loss and your eyes will fill with tears but know that you brought the best out of Banks and visa-versa. I have no doubt it is hard to have your best friend not there anymore. May you find comfort in your closest friends. Thinking of you and Hugs from afar
