Brent will always be Dr. Rollins to me. He was my employer, mentor, friend and father figure since I graduated veterinary school and moved to Arizona immediately after. He was the reason I came to AZ, to do an internship in Equine practice. I always looked up to him as my "Arizona dad". He was always so generous in sharing his time, knowledge, encouragement and advice with me. I will always remember him as the gracious man he was and I am so blessed to have had him in my life for so many years. He will be deeply missed and thought of often.

Brent was my good high school buddy, one of those friends with whom we had long philosophical discussions about what life was all about and how to be a good person. (I think he succeeded!) He and Francie have been my lifelong friends ever since. Over the years, we've kept in touch, enjoying each other's family news and sharing heartfelt hugs at WHS reunions. I'll never forget.
I've always loved Brent's sense of humor, his integrity, his practicality, and his down-to-earth goodness. Just to give you a taste, here's what he wrote in my senior yearbook: "Sharon, you've done so many nice things for me since I've known you, I don't know what to say. You're more than just a friend, you're a pal. If ever I make a million dollars, you'll get half of my half because Uncle Sam will have the other half (also my wife will own half too...I didn't think about that). That still leaves enough, I guess. You'll deserve it because you've really helped me understand things....so you can buy a horse and I'll train it. OK. Good-bye and all my best wishes are with you. Stay as you are and you'll never disappoint people. Sincerely, Brent"
How do you thank a lifelong pal like that except to say: I'll miss you, my friend, and I'll grieve for you and your dear family's loss, until we meet again. But until then, I hope you'll pretend you're not noticing my tears even though I never bought that horse.

Reflections...
Saturday was a beautiful day, mirroring a perfect celebration of a life well spent. Humor, tears, admiration and, yes, preaching all in the right amount. A life spent modeling integrity and faith, honor and just enough sass to make life interesting. He will haunt the hall of the Cave Creek building, the pride and joy of his service there. Thank you for sharing his life with us...eee haw

So sorry for your loss. Brent was our vet for many years. He will be truly missed. He was a man of great character.

Dear Mrs. Rollins and family.
Brent was our equine vet for more than 30 yrs. And yes, we were probably one of the late night or weekend calls that needed his help...and he always came out with a hug and reassurances. We could not have asked for a more knowledgeable and compassionate person to care for our horses over the years. We also remember how much he looked forward to retiring and spending more time with his family. Please accept our heartfelt condolences for the loss of this special man. Sincerely, Chickie & Dohn Rosenthal.

I am so sorry for your loss. Please accept
my condolences. Dr. Rollins was always very kind and welcomed me into his home many times. I remember during my elementary and junior high years, Treven would invite me to his house and we would play basketball in the driveway with Tyler. We weren't as good as Tyler at the time but I remember Dr. Rollins coming home after work and he always stopped to say hello and ask how I was doing. That would typically be followed up with an invite to dinner. His generosity and kindness did not go unnoticed but I wouldn't realize the impact until I became a dad and neighborhood kids were in my driveway doing the same thing. It's difficult to explain the impact but the impression that he created with this young man was significant. The love that he exuded towards his family also overflowed to others around them and I am honored and blessed to have been able to experience his kindness and generosity.

We were saddened to hear of Brent's passing. He became our horse vet in 1972 when we moved to Cave Creek. He was practicing at 32nd St and Bell Rd. He was a great veterinarian; an amazing diagnostician, always available and very compassionate. He clearly loved what he did. He shared our sorrow when we lost our last horse. We will miss him.

I love President Rollins! Always such a friendly face who would grab you by the arm, pull you in close, look you in the eyes and make you feel like he genuinely cared about you. I always felt his love. A great example of a committed priesthood holder, father and leader.

Brother Rollins was a remarkable influence on me in my teen and young adult years. I remember countless interviews and conversations with him that uplifted and inspired me to strive to become my best-self. I am grateful for the memories of hugs and smiles in church halls. I always believed he sincerely cared about me -- and as a youth that was instrumental in my success. Because of this, he and Sister Rollins have always had a special place in my heart.
I wish I was there to give you a big hug Sister Rollins. I'm so sorry for your loss. I am grateful for the immeasurable blessings the gospel brings. And, I do know, without a shadow of a doubt that "Sunday will come". You will be reunited once again. But, in the time between then and now, my heart hurts for the sadness and loss you must feel. We love you!

Sister Rollins and family,
I am so saddened to hear about President Rollins passing. He is an amazing man. He played an integral roll growing up. He was a phenomenal leader and roll model to me. I will be forever grateful for all he did and taught me as a young man. All of my best wishes to you all.

My deepest sympathies to Francie and family. Dr. Rollins taught reproduction for the Scottsdale Community College Equine Science Program. He was an inspiration to the students and to me, a faculty colleague. We all share the loss of an outstanding veterinarian, horseman, and teacher. The lessons that he taught us will live on through us as we teach them to others.

I am lost for words. My friendship with Dr. Rollins started back in March of 1974. He was then, as he is now, very dear to my heart. He was an amazing veterinarian who will be greatly missed by many. Heaven just received another wonderful Angel. Until we all meet again.

Dear Mrs. Rollins and family.....I was so saddened to hear of Brent's passing, and offer my heartfelt sympathies. We met in 1986 when I entered equine practice in Gilbert, AZ and later in Scottsdale. I truly enjoyed meeting him on occasion at various barns, and know his clients loved and respected him. His name will forever be synonymous with Arizona equine medicine.
Yours truly,
Dr. Eddie Taylor

Such a sorrowful joy are these events. We have loved you forever...you kids in my classes..first friends in Cave Creek...Bishop of the ward...Conversations in the hall that put my mind to rest. Such a great spirit...generous, patient, wise and great sense of humor. Will ALWAYS remember the warmth of his heart. So proud of his new digs on Cave Creek Road...what a man. We are all so blessed to have had him and your family in our lives...regardless of ward boundaries...hugs and prayers...

PS. A thought from Elder Holland that I can't remember exactly: " When someone leaves this earth, they leave a hole in your heart that is just their size. It is only when we are reunited that that hole is filled back up and the sadness finally leaves."

I have so many memories of Brent as a child, and teenager. He was always around to tease, teach and joke around with us. He most always had a big smile for everyone. He was a great student, a good brother and son. I admired him as he grew into a wonderful man, married a wonderful woman and started his family and his life's work. Once we reach our adult years though, we often lose touch with those that meant so much to us in our formative years. It was so with my wonderful next door neighbors on Orangewood Ave. I am thinking of all of you with love as I write this; and of you, Francie and your family. I treasure the memories of the times that we shared. RIP Brent.
