In memory of
Dave Ashton
August 8, 2011
I am saddened to hear of his passing, but glad to see that he continued all through his life by helping others and lived a full life with his wife and family. I knew him and Fae in the Capital Hill 2nd Ward in the 60's. What a wonderful couple they were, I never forgot them. May the family continue their wonderful legacy of service.

We were saddened to learn of President Heslop's passing, but are releived for him and so grateful for the opportunity to have known him. His life was one long lesson in applied Christianity -- so many worthwhile projects; so much good done that he didn't have to do, but did anyway; so many lives affected for the good. May the Lord bless you all abundantly at this time. Thank you for sharing your great dad.

I remember J so well as he worked with my dad (Theron Liddle) at the Deseret News for many years. I think many of the Christmas pictures of our family were taken by him. My sympathies on your loss. He was an awesome man.

J will be sorely missed by those of us whom he touched in this life. He was a mentor to me early in my career, at the Deseret News and Church News. He passed on wisdom and practical knowledge I have taught and shared as a journalism instructor, freelancer, and editor at the LDS Church magazines for most my career. J was genuine, caring, and enough of a friend to be honest with you when you needed it, but still kind about it. Those of us blessed to know him can only hope we may be able to share some of what we learned from him.

I express my sincere sympathy at the passing of President Heslop. I especially remember Bro Heslop when he was a photographer with the Church News .He covered the Tabernacle Choir trips and I was a member. It was nice having someone from my neighborhood to share these special occassions. Living in his ward meant learning of his great and steady faith. Many times he was a home teacher with my sons and we loved his yearly pineapple which he gave to us at Christmas. He was a friend to me in times of trial and will be missed by all of us.
