J Hood Garber Jr, aged 68, was killed on June 24, 2024, in Jackson, Mississippi. Born on November 25, 1955, in Memphis, Tennessee, he was a charismatic and friendly man known for his pride and attention to detail in every aspect of life.

A long time Jackson resident, Hood graduated from Manhattan High School where he excelled in football and track. He furthered his education at The University of Mississippi, where he studied finance and was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Hood's professional life was marked by a career spanning over 30 years in finance, sales, and body work at various car dealerships in the Jackson area.

Hood's love for the outdoors was evident through his hobbies; he became an Eagle Scout in 1973 and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also an avid fan of college football, particularly cheering for Ole Miss. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jackson and held his faith close to his heart throughout his life.

Hood is survived by his sister, Ida Adams; brother, Dal Garber; daughter, Melissa Foles; sons, Jacob, Justin, and Wesley Garber; and his 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, J Hood Garber Sr and Sylvia Garber.

In honor of Hood's memory, the family requests donations be made to Shower Power MS, an organization dedicated to aiding those experiencing homelessness. Hood will be missed by all who knew him.
