J.W.J. WILLIAMS Obituary
Bill passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the age of 82. Loving husband and partner of 50 years to Ann. Proud dad to Peter (Carey), Rob (Rick) and Richard (Charlotte), and beloved grandpa of Rowan, Derek, Emmett, Reed, and Seth. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends. A pioneering computer scientist in the 1960s, Bill came to Ottawa from the UK in 1974 with his family to pursue a long career with BNR and then Nortel until his retirement in 1995. Bill became a volunteer at Kanata Theatre shortly after arriving in Canada, being involved in the construction of countless sets, lighting design, and the occasional stage role. There will be a Celebration of Life at the Ron Maslin Playhouse (1 Ron Maslin Way, Kanata) on Saturday, October 6 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Donations may be made in memory of Bill to the Ottawa Heart Institute or Kanata Theatre.

I appreciated Bill whenever I was at the Theatre to set up the Art in the Lobby. He always had the happy ready to help Aura about him that I will miss now.

I appreciated having Bill present at the Theatre when I came there to set up new Art in the Lobby.
He always had that happy ready to help Aura about him and was very easy to communicate with .
I will miss him for sure ,so my greatest sympathies go out to those that were very close to him.

I knew Bill from the Playhouse, I looked after the HVAC equipment, Bill and I worked closely together for many years. He was a very loyal and honest man and he will be missed. My condolences to the family.

I was Bill's secretary at BNR for a couple of years in the '80s. He was such a nice man. I was very sorry to hear of his passing.
