Jack Andrews Obituary
December 4, 1938 - July 3, 2025
Jack L. Andrews, affectionately known as "Poppy," passed away unexpectedly on July 3, 2025, in Green Cove Springs, Florida, at the age of 86.
Born on December 4, 1938, in Joliet, Illinois, Jack led a life marked by hard work, deep love for his family, and quiet strength. He shared a devoted 67-year marriage with his beloved wife, Lynda, who preceded him in death just this past April.
Jack spent more than 30 years as a heavy equipment mechanic with the Material Service Corporation and was a proud member of Local 701. In 1986, he and his family relocated from Joliet to Panama City, Florida, where he and Lynda started a successful family business, A Action American Insurance.
He is lovingly remembered by his children: Jack Andrews (Mary Pat), Jodi Black (Gayle), and Jami Hinrichs (Herbert). He was preceded in death by his son, Dru Andrews.
Jack's legacy lives on through his grandchildren: Dru (Melanie), Travis (Ally), Colleen (Ned), Alex (Ashley), Jacob (Erica), and Chad (Madalina), as well as his step-grandchildren Amelia, Micah, and Vanessa.
He was blessed with fourteen great-grandchildren-Kaytlin, Dru, Jack, Eric, Autumn, River, Kinslee, Rylee, John, Ethan, Jake, Wyatt, Ryleigh, and Maizy-and one great-great-grandson, Luke.
Jack was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great grandfather. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life-watching sports, spending time with family, and boating on the waters near his home. He especially cherished quiet evenings spent with Lynda, taking in the sunsets from their home.
His presence, his humor, and his quiet wisdom will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Jack's life is planned at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Callaway Florida, on July 19th at 1pm.
