Jack Gay Burke

Jack Gay Burke, Age 82, of Desert Hot Springs, CA, died Friday, October 28, 2022, at Eisenhower Hospital in Rancho Mirage, CA. He was born in Los Angeles, CA to Gaylord and Alice Burke and spent most of his childhood in Riverside. He came to the Coachella Valley in 1987. He was an Accountant who started his career working at missile sites on Vandenburg Air Force Base. He went on to work for other businesses before setting up his own accounting business. Jack received a liver transplant in 1999 and was grateful for the 23 years of good life he received from it. He co-founded the Coachella Valley Liver Support Group and facilitated meetings for many years. He was a member of Southwest Church of Indian Wells, CA. Jack enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved his many trips in his motorhome. Cruising to various ports in the world was another favorite pastime. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, JoAnn; three daughters, Leanne Burke of Riverside, Rachel Williams (Doug) of Covina and Michele Thrash (Earl) of Parker, AZ; a son Doug (Julia) of Apple Valley; 6 grandchildren (preceded in death by 1 grandson); and a sister, Diana Hasprey of Nipomo.
