Jack Calvo Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 18, 2009.
Jack S. CALVO Jack S. Calvo, on Friday, March 13, 2009, left this world at the age of 94. Born the third child of five, his parents Luna and Solomon Calvo, were Seattle's first Sephardic settlers, arriving in 1902 from Turkey. Jack grew up in Seattle, attending Garfield High and the U of W. Very athletic, he excelled at swimming, skiing, golf and tennis into his eighties. He was a partner of the family owned Waterfront Fish and Oyster Co. His adventurous spirit led him to travel the world extensively, especially to visit family in Mexico, Cuba and Turkey. He took many continuing education classes, was an avid reader, loved music, films, dancing and his Sootlach. His wife of fifty years, Trudy, died in 1987. He leaves behind his sister, Esther Muscatel; daughter Lynn, son Jon; granddaughter Gina, and longtime companion, Gertrude. His thoughtful, considerate, and gentlemanly countenance will be greatly missed. Any remembrances can be made to Park Shore, 1630 43rd E., Seattle, 98112. 206-329-0770.
