This goes way back to the 80's & 90's when Mr. Davis was my neighbor across the street. His son was one of my best friends. At the age of 14, I never really knew Mr. Davis as well as Mrs. Davis or his son, Jack, but I do remember the family as being the type that was warm, and welcoming. The kind of family that always had a friendly way about them. And I remember that fondly about my childhood, on the street I grew up on. My memory of Mr. Davis' family is a happy one and I wanted to share.

Oddly, I find myself living in Southern IL and stumbled upon this sad news. My condolences to the entire Davis family.

I had the pleasure of serving with Jack in the Illinois House of Representatives. Those
were great years. He helped make them so.
He was dedicated to the people of his district. He was a good guy and his word was his bond.
May the Good Lords Holy Angels welcome him home. I was happy to know him as a friend.

Ginny, Jack, Jill and Heather
Jess and I are saddened by your loss. At times like this, altho we grieve with you, all who knew Jack must be thankful that his time to pass from this world has come. He had a wonderful life and would not have wanted to suffer the past few years, or have his loved ones suffer the slow declining years he had to go thru. You have shared the best of times and the worse if times of his life. I pray your memories will sustain you knowing how proud he was of all of you and he had a life well lived. Our love to you.

Jack was a born leader with an intellect and personality as big as all outdoors. As a first term legislator, I considered Jack to be a calculating and worthy master of the legislative process. He was downstate and he was upstate all wrapped up into one heck of a guy. My sympathies to his family

Ginny and family,
I want to express my deepest sympathy for your loss. It is hard to believe Jack and Russell died within days of each other. But now they are all together again. I am sorry I didn't get to see you and Jack over the last many years. I am a cousin of his from Mt Vernon. My dad was Lowell Bender his fathers brother. My mom was Mary Bender and she passed away 7 years ago.
I can see Jack lived a full life and did so much for our country. Thank you for his service!
Again I am so sorry for your loss.

Love Carmen and family
