My heart was saddened by news of Jack's death. He was a wonderful man that I had the privilege of working with for almost 20 years. During those years I had the highest respect for his professionalism, his kindness, and his true respect and concern for the many students who were privileged to have him as a teacher. Jack truly made a difference in his lifetime and he will be greatly missed.

Jack was a kind and helpful mentor for me when I taught at Encina. My most recent memories include a visit (in 2008) to my school by him, Don Day and Vince Marelich. What an interesting trio they were!! They were checking it out, and offering advice and just being friends. Good memories. I pray you all can be comfoted by memories of good times. My prayers are with you. I hope you'll let us know if you have a service.

Sad to hear of Mr. Dutton's passing. A fair and pleasant math instructor.

My condolences to all of the friends, family members and students of Mr Dutton. I am from the class of 1969 and had Mr Dutton for a math class. He was kind, patient and pleasant, always. Rest in peace, Sir, we are lucky to have had you at our school.

As a former student at Encina High, graduating in 1968, I had the pleasure of having Mr. Dutton as one of my teachers. I recall him as being very dedicated to teaching. I always enjoyed his various bow ties. He was the only teacher that wore them. He always looked and acted so professional. May you, the family, always know how respected he was among us students. Mr. Dutton, RIP.
