Reading about Jack brought back only pleasant memories. He was indeed very active in organizing the Boeing Employees Alpine Society (BOEALPS) and served in 1963/64 as the second president of the then-young organization. He always wore a cheerful smile, even in atrocious weather. His perpetual enthusiasm was contagious, and made him a very pupular rope partner.

Even though I had lost track of Jack through the years, memories of good times we enjoyed in the early 1950s quickly refreshed my memory of the great friend he was. He and I became close when we worked together selling John Hancock life insurance and this friendship was enhanced with many fishing trips. He was a gifted raconteur who could keep us all entertained with his repertoire of stories.
Jack was an usher at our wedding when Betti and I were married in 1954. We have often thought of Jack through the years and last evening we reminisced in recalling many of the jokes he shared.
It is inspiring to know that he conquered polio and went on to conquer the mountains.
We recall each of his children with great fondness and send our condolences to the family. Jack will ever have a happy place in our hearts and will be remembered with a smile.

Jack introduced me to little mountains like Mount Si in the early 60's.

"Thanks for the memories!!" Jack and Mike Baurichter took me under their wings at Boeing to introduce me to Spares Planning via "RFB's"... many laughs back then in the mid-60's. Jack also regaled me with humorous stories of trips to Vancouver Island's west coast, which resulted in many trips of our own there in later years.
Thanks, Jack!
