I will always remember Mr. Eckerd from the times I was privileged to escort him from store to store, as he made some of his many Christmas visits. A big smile and a sincere thank-you, spoken individually to each of "his" store associates, meant a lot to all of us who worked for him.

His concern, his energy and his sense of humor were an inspiration to us all.

Our sympathy to his family at their loss.

My condolences to the Eckerd Families for their lost.

I have been working with the Eckerd company since I was 18. I have not only chosen my career since I have been there, but have met my husband while working there. Eckerd has been a big part of my life and will always have a special meaning in my heart and memories.

I do believe we have lost a great legacy. May Jack Eckerd rest in peace

I feel that I have lost a close relative. Mr. Eckerd was a inspiration to me. His legacy is only surpased by the example he set in his personal life and in business.

I grew up near an Eckerd Drugstore and live less than two blocks from one now. As such, Eckerd has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I've often wondered who was behind the name. It sounds like Jack was a very good man. Regardless of whether my neighborhood Eckerd one day becomes my neighborhood CVS, whenever I need some batteries or deoderant or film for my camera, my first thought will be "gotta run to ECKERD'S" I hope his family finds comfort in the enormous legacy he leaves behind. We should all be proud of this great Floridian.

We have lost a great man. My sincere sympathy to all members of his family.

I worked with Jack in the campaign trail when he ran for governor.

I am a pharmacist with Eckerd, and i have worked for this company since 1970. I now have 34 yrs in this company.

I was in Naples, fl when Jack gave my drug clerk 100 shares of eckerd stock. That stock split twice thereafter.

God take him and bless him forever.

We are going to miss you.

I only meet Mr. Eckerd twice. Once when they opened one of his drug stores in the 60's & then when he ran for Governor. He was a big influence in my life.

The 1st was that every vote counts! That's why I registered to vote the day I turned 18 & voted in every election since 1974. I worked every house in my pct. when I believed in a candidtate.

Second I became an enterpienur. I believe that has helped me as a person to believe anything is possible. If you have a dream & put action behind it anything is possible.

Thank you Mr. Eckard for making me a better person. And thank you for making Florida a better state.
