Jack Ferris Obituary
Jack L. Ferris, 87, of Oshkosh died Tuesday February 25, 2014, at Aurora Medical Center. He was born January 28, 1927 in Oshkosh a son of the late Jack H. and Jessie (Sheppard) Ferris. He married Marilyn Schmidt on May 21, 1949, in Oshkosh.
Jack was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Omro and was a U.S. Army veteran. He had worked at Mercury Marine Outboard Racing Division and was also a carpenter, building many homes in the Oshkosh area. He enjoyed painting pictures and Christmas villages.
Jack is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Oshkosh; two daughters, Bonnie (Roy) Meulemans and Sherry (Phil) Lux both of Oshkosh; five grandchildren, Melissa (Ben) Koepke of Oshkosh, Ryan (Nicole) Meulemans of Apple Valley, MN, Cory (Jessica) Lux of Oshkosh, Shawn (Terri) Meulemans of Germantown, WI, and Jodi (Jason) Newell of Oshkosh; nine great-grandchildren, Brandi Stafford Lux, Bronson Lux, Addison Muelemans, Brock Koepke, Ty Meulemans, Zac Meulemans, Tatum Newell, Macoy Newell, and Bennett Meulemans; two sisters-in-law, Edith Frahm and Sue Schmidt; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Jack will be held Friday February 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Eastside, Rev. Richard Bartholomew officiating. Visitation will be held at the eastside funeral home on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established to Park View Health Center.
Jack's family wishes to thank everyone who helped out in any way, especially the staff at Park View for the excellent care given and to the ICU at Aurora, especially Matt whose compassion was so very much appreciated

Dad, you have taught so me much on what love and family means. You taught me how to water ski, drive the car (parallel park between saw horses) drive the snowmobile and how to hunt. Those memories will never be forgotten. You wre are amazing great grandfather, grandfather and Dad. We will take good care of Mom. I love you.

Dad, I have so many wonderful memories of growing up,and you taught us so many things. You took us hunting, fishing, and taught us how to water-ski I will never forget going through the lilly pads and the smile on you face. That smile I will always cherish forever, it always melted my heart.. You will be missed and we will take of Mom, but know one can take away the memories they are close to my heart. Grandpa thank you for all the wonderful memories I had with you. You were such a strong man and for that I truly appreciate and love you for that. Jack's name brings back nothing but fond memories. I had the opportunity to work with Jack on many different projects in the early days of Mercury Racing. From designing and building the cabinets and racks that went into all of the race team trucks to the building of all of the offices and work areas at Merc High Performance Products when that division was started. He repaired and improved many a race boat back in the day. He, with Carl Stippich, was instrumental in the building of the five Twistercraft race hulls for Mercury .... a very talented man with a very big heart! I enjoyed that we were able to toss back a few beers together, always a fun time. I'm sure glad that our paths did cross ....

Dear Marilyn, Bonnie, and Sherry,
I have many fond memories of the times we spent with "little Jack" and all of you at the " cottage". It was such fun times - learning to water ski, seeing water lilies in bloom, all the frogs, AND being sure NOT to fall in! It really felt like we miles away from home and it was such an adventure! I remember my first sleepover at "big" Jack's and how mom and dad had to come get me because I was homesick. I am very sorry for your loss- he was a wonderful and kind man to all the Sosnoski family.
