Jack Halbert Obituary
Jack's great joys in life were his 56-year marriage to his wife, Patricia A. (Webster) and his two daughters, Lara Walsh of Norwalk, CT and Erika Procaccini of Darien, CT and her husband Jack Procaccini. He was a proud grandfather to A.J., Hannah and Georgia Procaccini and Sara Lindsay and Charlotte Walsh. He is survived by his older sister, Judy Gilbert of Spring Lake, NJ and was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Sara Halbert (Maier) and his brother-in-law, Joel Gilbert.
Born on June 7, 1946, in Brooklyn, NY, Jack graduated from Midwood High School and SUNY Oneonta, Class of 1968 where he was a member of Phi Delta Rho fraternity.
He was a tech pioneer in the 1970s when he opened the first personal computer store in Hamden, CT and went on to make a career in the tech field. An avid New York sports fan, he cheered his teams victories and suffered their many defeats. A wry whit and sense of humor, he tried his hand at stand-up comedy.
A gathering for friends and family to share their memories of Jack will be held at the United Church of Rowayton, Connecticut on December 30, 2023, at 10:00 am. A reception for attendees will follow.

Jack was one of my closest friends in high school along with Marshall and Henry.
We enjoyed pulling pranks in one another which included sending his parents a phony letter from the HS principal that he was not permitted to graduate. Since Hack was the first of our group to get a car, we went with him all over even spontaneously deciding to drive to Washington D C.
We had a great time visiting him in Mill Basin when his family moved out of Flatbush.
We enjoyed is "awful" guitar playing and his off color songs about each other´s physical appearances.
We liked to call him Halberstader

I didn´t know Jack, and only recently met his beautiful daughter, Erika. I´m sure he must have been a wonderful man to have such a wonderful daughter. Condolences to all the family and friends.
