Jack Hindmarsh was a wonder. I had a conflicted time at Haileybury in the 80´s but he was always there for me and always encouraged my musicality. I left the school early but went on to become a multi Grammy winning musician and producer. None of this would have been possible without Jack. Bless him and his kindness, he was a guiding light and a wonderful soul.

I was a student of Jack´s (Mr. Hindmarsh!) at Trinity College of Music from around 1976-81
He was such a lovely chap. I wasn´t brilliant at harmony, but he tailored his approach to my specific interests which was very helpful and continues to be so!

Jack gave me an undying love for music
I was so lucky to have Jack teach me organ at Brighton College in the 1960s. His enthusiasm was infectious to everyone in the school and I count myself lucky to have known Jack and received a musical education from the maestro.
God bless you Jack

I met Jack when my son joined the choir at Haileybury in about 1983. Jack's enthusiasm for his music was so infectious and he gave parents and friends the opportunity to take part in many of the choral works he staged at Haileybury so that we had the pleasure of singing with such a 'professional' youthful choir. I also sang in his madrigals evenings which were magical. The reason for this 'memory' being posted now [August 2017] is that I have just joined a choir near me and although I haven't sung in a choir for over 20 years, I was immediately overwhelmed by memories of the wonderful times I had singing and learning from Jack, so I looked on the internet and found his obituary. People like Jack never die because they live on in the memories of so many people.....
