Jack Jones was one of the most talented singers of the 20th century.
I was blessed to have traveled around the country to here him sing many times.
He had a fine tuned quality in his voice combined with passion and modern styling, jazz sound. You felt so uplifted in hearing him sing so many fantastic interpretations to the worlds greatest composers.
And, he was so cool.
My heart is filled with so many special musical memories because he was certainly and will always be "a singer". God bless his family.

I just learned of Jack Jones passing...I'm so very sad. He was a class act! A singer in his own league! I am 72 and have enjoyed his music most my life. He was handsome, a great dresser, very charming and so very talented! Always enjoyed his style and choices of songs. I remember his TV show and his talented father performing. He was very blessed.

I first heard Jack on the radio when I was a junior in high school and fell in love. I followed him throughout my lifetime, saw him 5 times in person bought many of his albums. I just found out that he passed away last October and I am so sad. At least his music will go on forever and I will listen to it until I am gone. What a beautiful voice.

Jack's tours in the UK were managed by my brother-in-law Tony McGrogan. They were friends, and supportive of each other. I saw Jack perform in New Brighton UK. I had always been a fan of his. He had true style, and chose the best of songs to sing. My condolences to his family and friends.

I have been a fan since the age of 9 when I decided to switch TV channels from the Charles Aznavour concert I was watching. I was mesmerised by this wonderful singer who was also singing in a televised concert. It was a few years later at the age of 18, when I first saw him at a live concert in the late 80s it was for me, his hey day and an experience I will never forget. He sang ‘People will say we’re in love’ to me and I thought I was in heaven. His voice was magical and the vocal range and his ability to scat was incredible. I saw him many many times in concert over the years, dragging my family across the UK on Jack’s many tours. The highlight was always his appearance at The London Palladium. The fans adored him, he joked, we laughed, he cast a spell over his audience and we were honoured to be in the presence of this sometimes, under rated STAR. His self effacing manner, his warmth, his unbelievable vocal talent and above all, his ability to make us all feel like his friends was what made him the ‘only happens once’ Guy that we all loved. Jack, RIP. We were lucky to have you in our lifetime. God Bless your family. Lorraine, Paul and family.

I met Jack Jones when I was 12 years old in 1968.
My dad who was also named Jack Jones invited him over to our house for an after concert party when he was in Houston.
My parents had met him earlier after seeing him perform in Las Vegas. After the show my dad introduced himself. "Jack Jones meet the real Jack Jones" My dad at that time was the Chief of Quality of Assurance for Nasa and he gave him a tour of Nasa during his visit to Houston.
They became goods friends and they talked on the phone often, I remember they met up in London when he was performing there around 1978. My dad was working in London teaching quality assurance to the Royal Navy, and he ran into Jack Jones's piano player who happened to be riding in the same trolley car. He told my dad that Jack was performing that night in London and that he would leave a backstage pass for him for the show. After the show they all met up for a drink and they all went on their way shortly after.
During that time in the 60's at my home in Houston, the only records that played on our record player were Jack Jones albums. I never had a problem with that because Jack Jones was so gifted and talented that his voice was mesmerizing, even for a 12 year old. What a talent and classy guy he was - The last of the great singers
Rest in peace Mr. Jack Jones

I saw him 5 times in concert. These last pictures were taken at a fundraiser for Ohio Cancer Associates in 1998 in Cincinnati. I had a chance to talk to him since my company (Macy's) sponsored it and my job was event coordinator as contributions manager. He was charming and the class act that I will always remember him as. Deepest sympathy to his family of a great loss of a great singer and person.

I was a long-time fan and believe that Jack was the greatest male vocalist of his era. I had the good fortune of seeing him several times in concert and most memorably at the now-closed Venetian Room in the Fairmont Hotel/San Francisco in 1986 accompanied by a full orchestra. His performance that night was spectacularly good and remains the best live performance I've seen to-date (and I saw Sinatra several times in concert). I met Jack several times over the years and he was always kind and gracious. And yes, he did have a wonderful sense of humor.** He will be missed. May the Lord grant him eternal rest.
Jim Mahoney
**an example was an ad-lib he offered one night several years ago at a show in Las Vegas. Someone called out a request from the audience. Jack apologized, saying that they didn't have the chart for the requested song, "but I think you'll enjoy this next one -- it has a lot of the same notes".

I have been a fan most of my life, since at least the early 60's.
I probably own every album he recorded. I loved going to Catalina Jazz Club every time he performed. I always felt it was such a joyful experience to be able to watch and hear him perform in such an intimate setting. At one of his performances, I sat there praying he'd sing a specific song. I had played it, until I wore out the grooves in this cut. So people are yelling one song title after another at him and I whisper, please sing, "One At A Time". Guess what he sang? Yep.... He didn't hear me. From my prayer to God's ear and to Jack. I literally sat there crying. It's such a beautiful song, and although someone else may have recorded it, I've never heard anyone but Jack sing it.
These are memories I will always treasure the rest of my life.
I can't express how much I miss him in the years to come.
