Our paths have crossed several times in the past, and I enjoyed knowing Jack. He was a good listener and always interested in our conversation. Somehow his world made my world make sense. I enjoyed his humor. May he rest in peace.

I met Jack when I was teaching school in El Paso, Texas back in the 1980's and we became friends. He always laughed about writing my address in his address book in pencil. We always stayed in touch through the years. Use to see him all the time when I lived in southern California. Glad that we got to have dinner at Leo's the last time I was back in El Paso in August 2016. Godspeed my friend.

My condolences. Had the opportunity to visit with him about roses and native plants and interview him several times for stories. He was a very nice man with lots of knowledge. So sorry to hear of his passing. Maria Gonzalez, reporter, El Paso Times

Jack was a wonderful friend for more than 30 years. Whenever I visited El Paso, I always looked forward to a tour of his cactus collection. I will miss him.
