I didn't know Jack but this death resonated with me, since my son,Kevin, succumbed to this same disease at the age of 29. I pray that God gives you the strength to get through this sadness and grief that has now entered your life.

Every one of us who has struggled with Lyme disease share in his family's loss and sorrow. I will try even harder to get doctors, researchers and legislators to deal with these devastating tick-borne diseases. And Jack will be in my thoughts as I do.

I knew Jack pretty well in highschool. I played soccer with him for a handful of years. Out of all times, both good and bad, Jack was remembered as the guy who you could always go to. If I was having a bad day at school, I'd make sure to hangout with Jack at practice after. His presence and kindness was completely unmatched. Rest in peace to one of the best

Having Jack in our life was such a blessing, he was like a son. Jack was a loyal, wonderful friend to Matthew and Marc through many of life’s up’s and down’s. Jack always wore a smile and had such a positive and enthusiastic presence.

When I heard the news, I was somewhat surprised by the visceral reaction I had. How many images came to mind of Whitby Way. Running up the hill with him to eat sour apples, or sledding down it on a good winters day. Sandcastles and snowballs. Those are the kind of memories I hold onto from that bygone time, memories I now have to hold just a little dearer. Everyone who knew Jack as he grew to be, has plenty more of those simple and fond memories than I do. May the very thought of those blessed parts of life fill the very air around with a warm and tender feeling, one that emphasizes and cheers his life. May tender memories soften your grief.
With such great loss to your family, may you all find comfort in each other when God feels far away - and in God when you and yours are apart. Romans 8:38-39
