PANNELL, Jack Johnson 95, died October 23, 2008 in Columbus, Ohio. Born April 20, 1913 in Halifax County, Virginia. Married to Gladys Pannell for 48 years, deceased. Survived by five children: Jacqueline Hunt and Carolyn Price of Chicago, Gwendolyn Gardner of Columbus, Pamela Findlay of Atlanta and Jack J. Pannell, Jr. of Baltimore. Survived by six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two brothers and a sister. Civic activities include NAACP and DayMont West Behavioral Health Center. Memorial service, Friday, April 24, 11 AM at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 380 South Broadway, Dayton, Ohio. Memorial donations to Thiossane Institute (P.O. Box 6896, Columbus, Ohio 43205) an African dance company founded by granddaughter Suzan Bradford Kounta.
