My heartfelt sympathy. Prayers & thoughts with family. Yesterday, I was going through boxes of old paper. I found some Hornet View school newspaper from 72 & 73. It had a teacher of the month article & Jack was picked. Talked about his job & family. Also, found my school annuals & Jack was in them &even signed his pic.

So sorry to hear about the death of Jack. He was such a kind man. I remember the many times he had to cut my locks off my lockers at Malvern High School, because I would forget the combinations. Not once did he get upset with me. I also remember how he would always say hi with a smile as he walked by. He is someone I will not forget. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

To the Russell family,
I had the pleasure of knowing Jack for many years. He always was a hard worker and it was rare for him to not have a smile. He will be missed by many.

Jack was the best. He greeted me each morning with a smile. He cared about the building, but he cared even more about the human beings inside. My sympathy to his family.

Jack was not only my first official boss, but he was a friend and a mentor early in my life. I was a student at Malvern HS and I joined his team during the summer of my sophomore year! Jack and I spent many days drinking a cold soda out of a bottle on our lunch breaks. I remember his packed lunches, his jokes, and authentic friendship! He was at every one of our basketball games (because he worked, but because he cared about his students). Someone mentioned his golf game on here and I remember going golf with Jack the year after I graduated and he and I laughed the whole 18 holes. He also had a unique golf stroke, but he beat me by at least 15 strokes. He used to tell me , it's not how hard you hit the ball, it's that you get it in the hole in less shots than the other player. LOL To his wife, his kids, (Dixie we love you!) and the rest of his family, know that you are in our thoughts and prayers!
Blessings to you all! I wish I could be there!

Your in our thoughts and prayers. His smile and the sparkle in his eyes said it all. Fun loving, kind, a man of faith. Mom really enjoyed his friendship at work, I learned much from him in a Bible Study group. Thinking of you all.

I had the honor of meeting Jack through a line of people. I married a Guatemalan woman named Gloria she has a cousin named Hector who married Cindy, Jacks daughter. My visit to Ohio was good, it became great when I had an opportunity to play some golf with Jack. I can tell you this, you can see a man and hs true integrity in a round of golf. Jack IS and was a man of great integrity. That round of golf was one of my most enjoyable, you see Jack shared stories with me about family and what made it so wonderful that he even included Hector! He really felt blessed. Jack also allowed me an experience of High School football, another acceptional experience. Jack and Wilma also did us an honor by visiting us in California. Thank you, to all for giving me an opportunity to know such a good man, Praise God for men like Jack, Im sure he blessed many people as he blessed us. To his family our sincere condolences, prayers for you, and thank you for sharing your husband, dad, grandfather and great grandfather with us.

Jack was one of the great ones, always kind and patient. He was a great help to the scout troop; I'll always remember him emerging from a wrapping of foam and tarps from under the snow on a polar bear campout, not to mention his unique way to carry tennis balls for the game while rafting on the Yough. My condolences to Scott and the rest of the family.

Thoughts and prayers go out to the Russell family. What a great guy and friend to everyone that knew him. I will always remember growing up in Malvern and playing basketball with Jack. He and Bob Cousy, of the Celtics, were masters of the underhand foul shot. Malvern has lost a wonderful man. We have all lost a good friend

Jack was a great friend when I taught at Malvern. His famous week-end line was "take 2 days off, you deserve it". I had the honor of dedicating a year book to him with that sentiment. May his family find comfort in knowing Jack was a blessing to all and his friendship reached out to all. God has welcomed His servant home.
