I remember Jack from Kenny's Castaways in The Village or maybe it was The Bitter End. Back in days when we would all hang out. Such a Sweetheart of a guy. My late husband, Norman Mershon and I just loved him so. Norman and his band Tycoon was signed with Arista records and we were so thrilled that he was joining Dire Straights! Jack will be sorely missed by so many of us.

Jack's twin daughters were about 5 at the time when they were students in my Santa Barbara Pre-K class. Their mom/girls and I also lived together for a few months there. Mom and Jack were divorced but shared custody and he'd come to pick up the girls often. They'd squeal with delight when he arrived and were engaged in fun activities during their times together. He was a wonderful father and a talented musician. I was shocked to learn that one of his daughters passed away tragically in 2018. RIP Jack and Nadine...you are now together in heaven.

I met him through mutual friends in Bali Indonesia back in the 80´s he had finished up the brothers in arms tour and was having a soul searching moment while holidaying in Bali.. surfing and being his free spirited self...we were both being challenged by life and those experiences involved growing and learning to live through the pain of loves lost..
He shared his love and joy .. his twin girls and bought cute little outfits for his twin daughters and we had a wonderful time..during those short lived but precious moments in magical Bali ..
I wondered about him over the years.. as thoughts would pop up of him.. I was reconnecting during the year 2018 though .. once again the universe was challenging him yet again.. this time difficult emotional trials as he lost one of his daughters... and then strangely as usual the universe brought back more fractal moments of those memories and once again reaching out became more of a spiritual calling.. Jack May you find the peace and reunion with all of your most precious special loves of your life.. though you are no longer here on this 3D plane ... your essence will always be felt by those who knew and loved you well.. your in those moments that we call Gods nature.. the breeze through those trees... those birds singing so joyfully and every scent of flowers that bloom .. the joy of knowing you will be everlasting and true..
condolences to your legacy left here on planet earth.. your grandchildren will carry that spark of love and light that you are...your music and words will live on.. for those who are yet to know your life´s journey..
Rest in the most precious knowingness.. that you are still with us all..

I met Jack at Conard high school. We both played guitar in local bands, but never together. We hung out and listened to a lot of music together. He was always a happy guy and a lot of fun to hang out with. It was great watching him hit the big time and in more recent years staying in touch through social media. We lost a talented and likable friend. My condolences to his family which he loved.
