I was a young boy growing up across the street from the Spurney family in Allison Park, Pa. I have fond memories of each of them including their beloved dog "Lady" always swallowing bees from the honey suckle plants. They were great neighbors and great friends. I know Jack touched many many lives. I was blessed that he touched mine. May you rest in peace Jack.

With deepest sympathy for your loss, I'm very grateful to have known Jack, and the opportunity he gave me as one of his first "trainees" to Japan. I will always remember his smile, and kindness in my prayers.

Jack was a well respected former boss of mine that I will never forget. I was blessed to have worked for him and was thankful for all he taught me about Honda. He was very proud of his wife and daughters. My thoughts and prayers are with Diane and family.

I worked with Jack for many, many years in his various positions within Honda including American Honda, HAM, and HPD. Jack was a stand-up guy and I enjoyed our long relationship. Honda was lucky to have him and we were lucky to have him in our life. Rest in peace, good buddy.

My deepest condolences to the Spurney Family. I had the pleasure of working with Jack in both Ohio and Japan while in Honda R&D. He and I had the chance to periodically share some laughs and drinks together regarding our experiences while we were living in Japan which I will never forget, and it always brought a smile to my face thinking about it, even to this day. You will be missed!

To the family of Jack Spurney: my sincere condolences. I had the pleasure of working closely with Jack for several years on a key project. I was amazed by his enthusiasm, love of Honda, honesty, humor and willingness to be vulnerable. I will miss him.

I'm so sorry to hear of Jack's passing. I worked with him for several years at Honda R&D in Ohio. One of my favorite "Jack stories" is one day he was trying to impress us with telling us different sayings in Japanese. After about 4 of them, I said: "Hakuna Matada",,,,,,,,he just looked at me like 'what is that?' I said, "Don't Worry, Be Happy!" (Lion King) He laughed like it was the funniest thing. Your family is in my family's prayers.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Diane and their daughters especially at this time. I'm most grateful for Jack's friendship and kindness. He inspired me to begin running marathons. I'll never forget the time he was on a long run in Palos Verdes and found money poking out of a discarded brown paper bag when he made it home, he told Diane to get the girls ready, the family was going to go out to dinner. They ordered the mud-pie and used the whole sum. To this day, as I'm running along, every once in a while I'll find my eyes gazing alongside the road thinking of Jack's find & family enjoyment. He was kind to our family as we went on overseas assignment with Honda R&D. hopefully our loss, is heaven's gain. May the Lord bless the Spurney family.

Blessings to the Spurney family,
I only worked with Jack at Honda HPD but his lasting memory will be one of an honest and mindful person who was always smiling and always willing to help. Above all, it was obvious that Jack loved his family, his dog and surfing. My sympathy and deepest condolences to all who were close to him.
