I knew Jack Terry as the husband of my dear friend, Louise, and the father of my 5th grade student in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY, Paul. Reading the obituary informed me about Jack´s life with more details than I had ever known. His biography is an amazing story of enormous courage, inner strength, a polymathic intelligence, a multi-talented hero.
I send heartfelt condolences to Louise, whose friendship brings back many good memories, and to her children and grandchildren. May Jack´s memory be for a blessing.

I just learned about Dr. Terry´s death. He was my psychotherapist for many years. Though I come from a family who survived the holocaust and married into a family of survivors, I never knew about Dr. Terry´s life. I did subsequently learn about him when I read his book years after I terminated treatment. What I did know about Jack Terry was that he was a kind, clear minded, articulate, most intelligent man whose empathy I felt. We maintained contact over the years, exchanging letters around the new year. His warmth and humor were always present. I felt very close to him.Reading about his death, watching the video of a talk he gave about his life, has been so tremendously moving. What a resilient and vital human being he was. I send my deepest condolences to his family. How fortunate for him and each one of you that he had such a will to live and love.

May Jack rest in peace. His life was inspirational-he channeled his greatest moments of pain into a profession to help people. The WSJ "In Memoriam" brought me to tears.

I read Mr Terry's obituary in the WSJ and was deeply moved. His story should resonate with all of humanity in today's troubled times. Thank-you Mr Terry for a life well lived, even amist such horrendous challenges.

Jack was a relative from our grandmother's side. I will always remember him as a man of great dignity, and feel fortunate to have known him. May his memory be for a blessing. Our grandmother was Pnina Holzer, nee Kirscht.

Jack was a neighbor in Hastings on Hudson and a classmate at the NewYork Psychoanalytic Institute. An incredible man whose life is an inspiration. One night he told me he survived by luck but also because he loved an older fellow inmate. Love he said was the only answer to death. Rest in peace Jack.
