Jack Vance Obituary
He was the son of the late Jack Desmond Vance and Mary Ruth Thomas Vance Williams and was preceded in death by a sister, Ramona Bragg.
He was employed with CSX Transportation for over 31 years, was an avid golfer and a member of the Windstone Golf Club. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy as a corpsman and was attached for a time to the Paris Island Marine Base and was of the Baptist Faith.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Copeland Vance; three sons, Michael, Jessie and Jeremy Vance; step-son, Michael Crough; three sisters, Monte Tarman, Ballwin, MO, B.J. Jones, Spanish Fort, AL and Julie Zeamer, Jasper, GA; brother, Steve Vance, Saraland, AL. At David's request, there will be no services.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Chattanooga at: hospiceofchattanooga.com.
Arrangements are by the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
