Jack Villanueva Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 22, 2016.

Jack Ramos Villanueva, 64, passed away on December 16, 2016 in San Diego, California. He was the widower of Frances C. Villanueva. They shared 44 years of marriage together.

Born in Gasan, Marinduque Philippines, he was the son of Jesus Villanueva and Esther Fortuno. He attended Ramon Magsaysay High School and enlisted in the United States Navy right after graduating from high school. He served in the United States Navy for 20 years as an Electrician and retired as a Senior Chief in 1995. He was very proud to serve in the US Navy and was even more proud to be an American citizen. A few years after he retired from the military, he worked for the City of San Diego Waste Management System for 18 years. He retired from the City of San Diego a year after his wife's passing in 2014.

He attended and enjoyed going to church at The Church at Rancho Bernardo (CRB). He was a Freemason and a member of Silver Gate Three Stars Lodge #296, member of San Diego Scottish Rite and a member of Al Bahr Shrine. He had multiple talents. To name a few, he was an electrician, mechanic, contractor, handy man (he was someone who can fix anything), upholsters furniture, etc. Ironically, his name is Jack and was always considered as ""Jack of all trades"". His passion was rebuilding classic cars and helping those who need their car fixed. He will be remembered for being selfless, kind, fun, loving, his advices and for always going out of his way to help others in need.

He is survived by his children, Geraldine Cui, Denny Villanueva, his son-in-law Wil Cui, grandchildren Cameron Cui, Ethan Cui, Gabriella Cui, Spencer Cui, sisters Carmen Salaw, Teresita Recacho and Thelma Santos and his dog, Smoothie. He was predeceased by his father Jesus Villanueva, daughter Leslie Joy Villanueva, brother Dr. Jose Villanueva, wife Frances Villanueva, sister Maria Alma Salvo and mother Esther Fortuno.

Dear Villanueva family,
I am sorry for your loss. It is never easy to lose a loved one, regardless if they have lived a full life. One thing I will say is that "WE" should be happy and allow our God to take his son into his care where he will forever be at peace. When you become sad just remember this; the love and laughter he shared with all of you will live in you forever. My sincerest condolences to you and your families. May God help you find peace and strength to get through this trying time. With all due respect.
