Jack was an inspirational mentor to stroke physicians throughout the U.S. For Jack, the needs of the patient always came first, patients under his care and the patients of the future -- who have come under his influence via his ground-breaking research.
Great memories of Jack and his legacy will stay with us. My wife Karen and I convey our sympathy and best wishes to Pat and family during these tough times.

I'll never forget the Twins game in 1969 we went to on Jack's son Jon's "Unbirthday." What a blast! He was a great man and we have the Whisnant family in our thoughts and prayers.

He and Pat mentored me professionally and personally.
I am very grateful to have them in the lives of me and my family.
