My husband introduced me to Jack at the 50th Reunion of the Sammy B. What a delightful man to know, I'm very honored to have known Mr. & Mrs. Jack Yusen. They took me under their wings for 3 days and the amazing memories will stay with me forever. Jack would light up like a Christmas Tree when he saw his friends from the Sammy B, and he hugged my husband tightly.

God, thank you for people like Jack, and his wife. The world needs more of them.

Dear Lord, please keep watch over the remaining survivors of the Sammy B, and keep a guiding hand on the families of Taffy 3.

Eternally grateful,

Mrs. J. Lecci

Thank you Jack Yusen!!

I met Jack at University House (where my mother was living). I totally agree that he exuded the patriotism, bravery, humility of The Greatest Generation. A Class Act all the way (and also a great dancer with an inalienable sense of humor and twinkle in his eye). Without men like Jack, we wouldn't be living the life we are living as Americans. God Bless You Jack--and THANK YOU!!

God Bless you Jack. My Dad was a WWII USN Vet too, I miss you both greatly. I enjoyed getting to know you over the years with all your TV / history interviews, its up to people like myself to keep the memory of vets like you alive as long as possible my friend. You've finally rejoined your shipmates. The Brooklyn Navy Yard seems so long ago now. GDK

A very grateful American

Our family loved Jack Yusen. My parents, Bob and Carol Moran, were great friends with him. They grew up together and we loved that they remained friends all their lives. We always loved when Jack and Ruth would visit and they all shared so many funny stories of their great times together. He was a wonderful man and we are sad to hear of his passing.

A gentleman's gentleman. He was always someone you could rely on to. I have very fond memories of my association with him even though I was in Atlanta and he was in Washington State. Jack, rest in peace. My thoughts are with Ruth and his entire family. Our sincere condolences.
