Jackie Lance Athens - Jackie Cougan (JC) Lance, age 83 of Athens passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023. He was born on March 7, 1939 in Lumpkin Co, GA, the son of Henry M. Lance and Pauline Yother Lance. He worked for many years at Burman Printing Co in Athens, GA, and was the owner of Main Street Printing in Bogart, GA. He loved many things, including guitars, classic cars, his Indian heritage, and most of all, his family. He married Dorothy Edwards in 1958, and they remained together until her death in 2002. Jack is survived by his son Henry Lance of Athens; daughters Amanda Mooney and husband Michael of Winder, Wanda Hall of Statham; brothers Verlon Roberts and wife Debra of Seneca, SC, Carl Martin and wife Phyllis of Gainesville, Howard Christy and wife Brenda of Dahlonega; sisters Barbara Dillingham of Goose Creek, SC, Martha Harries and husband John of Scottsboro, AL, Shirley Strickland and husband Jack of Ochlocknee; grandchildren Joshua Lance of Comer, Curtis Mooney of Winder, Ben Mooney of Winder, Erica Hall of Statham; and 8 great grandchildren. Memorial Services to be held 2:00 pm Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will recieve friends 1:00 pm to service time Saturday, January 21, 2022 at the funeral home.
