Jacob Ellis

Ellis, Jacob Hudsonville Jacob R. Ellis, age 29, passed away unexpectedly from cardiac complications on July 22, 2019. He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on October 2, 1989. He graduated from Hudsonville High School in 2008 and went on to obtain an Associate Degree from Grand Rapids Community College. He dreamed of becoming an electrician one day and was currently enrolled in the Electrical Construction program at GRCC. He is survived by his parents Robert and Ellen Ellis of Hudsonville, his sister, Samantha (Ellis) Bylsma and brother-in-law Jake, along with grandmother, Crystal Harrington, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, the Muskegon River Boat Club family, and the Arnson family of Hudsonville whom he referred to as his second family. He had a very special group of friends who provided a lot of good laughs through the years allowing for many cherished memories. They fondly called him "Leftear" for his love of his little red Mini Coop. He was a wonderful son, brother, and friend whose life ended too soon. He touched us all in a unique way and we will always hold a special place for him in our hearts. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 1, at VanderLaan Funeral Home on 32nd Avenue in Hudsonville, MI. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, August 2, at 4:00 pm at Fellowship Reformed Church.
