Oh Jamie, as this 'year of firsts' ends, there is hope for some relief from the pain of our loss...for some, that is true, for others, it is more a 'lifting' of the numbness & the pain is more 'real' in this second year. There are no 'rights or wrongs' in your grief journey. Moms, Dads, Spouses, Kids, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins,& friends...ALL grieve differently.
As you remember your sweet son Jacob today (and EVERY day), know that you are surrounded with love & support & prayers - from ALL over this country! Know that we in Wisconsin keep you in our thoughts & prayers, & know God surrounds you all in His loving arms, feeling your pain, crying with you, and holding you tightly in His comfort & peace.

Randy and I will always remember the wonderful couple who was part of our New Zealand adventure. We are shocked and saddened by this and sending the love we can to Anjali, all family and friends. We are honored to have known Jacob and Anjali for the short time our lives crossed.

Anjali, we were so sad to learn of Jacob's passing from our local newspaper today. We have wonderful memories of you and Jacob from our trip to New Zealand last year. Jacob was a very likable guy. He was kind, genuine, and had a contagious smile. Our hearts go out to you and all of Jacob's family. Please know that we are thinking of you and keeping you in our our prayers.

I am Jacob's nephew Connor's Kindergarten teacher in Elkhorn, Ne. I am so very sorry for your loss. I feel that Connor has that zest for life and true empathy for others that it sounds like his Uncle possessed. Please know that I hold your family in my prayers. Connor has a special place in my heart and anyone that is or was an important influence in his life, like his Uncle Jake was, has all of my respect. I pray that Jake's memory can stay alive in the hearts and minds of all those that he loved and who loved him. ❤

Jacob was one of the first people I met at Iowa in a class we shared. His kindness and eagerness to learn about others reassured me that I picked the right school. Not once during the time that I had the pleasure of knowing him did I not see him smile. Condolences to his family and friends....he will be missed but not forgotten.

I am so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to the entire family during this time.

Jamie and John, please know our thoughts are with you at this time. My favorite memory of Jacob is when he attended Sunday School at 3-4 years old. What a delight! May your memories hold him dear.

To Anjali, Tyler and Jacob's Families and Friends,
Our hearts were saddened to hear of Jacob's passing. We know his love and joy of life continue to smile down upon us all. Over the years we have hosted the Blencoe Band of Brothers for numerous college spring break ski trip "rest stops" in Colorado. We always were impressed and and cherished our time with such a special group of friends. Sending warm thoughts and prayers to surround you as you celebrate a very special young man.

I have so many memories of Jacob, but one specifically comes to mind with his passing. When we met, we both attended the same Creative Writing workshop at The University of Iowa. There, he wrote a short poem entitled "Life and a Shade Tree," or something to that extent. I will never forget the tone of the piece, as it exemplified who he was completely; giving and kind. He described the shade tree as providing for its under-sitters; shelter and shade. Jacob was always everyone's shade tree.

To the families of Jacob, we are so sorry for your loss. We have lots of memories of Jacob, but the best one was when he was 3.
We were at a birthday party at Deb & Scotts, and Jacob danced for everyone like Elvis.
How precious that was. We will always remember Jacob being full of fun and joy to everyone he new. Love always to the family & thanking God for the time we all had to know Jacob. May God Bless All!
