Dear Lyons Family, I extend to you my sincerest sympathy. He was a fellow carpenter with my son and was a tremendous blessing to him through work and friendship starting with the training center apprentice days. Having met him, I know what a tremendous loss you have with his death. God bless you all!

I am stunned. Though I knew Jake only briefly. I've had almost three decades in as a carpenter and found Jake to be one of the sharpest, most down to earth and approachable foremen I've ever had. It was obvious he was going to have an impact on the trade. I'd hear his name circulated around the trade in some interesting places. He was a unique soul. Though he was my foreman only twice, I find that the news of his passing impacted me as only someone who meant something could. My deepest condolences to his family.......and to an extent, to the carpenters. He will be missed.

Dear Lyons Family, My family and I offer our deepest sympathies. I have worked with Jake for the past 5 years on multiple sites. I have grown to respect his dedication, work ethic, abilities, and attitude. Although we started as brothers on the job, we grew to be friends. Jake was always the guy I could count on in a pinch, the guy who would go above and beyond what he was called upon to do, and the guy who could always pull a prank. We had a good time together and he will be sorely missed. We offer our condolences and support.

Dear Lyons Family,

Our deepest heart felt sympathies go out to you and your family during this most difficult time. Although I personally did not know Jake, my son Robert aka “boobie” which is what Jake named him when he was an apprentice at Easley and Rivers under him did. My son speaks so highly of Jake and he looked up to him as his mentor and Jake taught him everything he knows today about carpenter work. Jake will be sorely missed by many he was truly an inspiration. God bless.

Sincerely
Melissa Demme & Robert aka “boobie” Helms

I just became friends with Jake through the Carpenters Training Center and it didn't take long for me to love the guy. He was truly one of a kind. He was going to be that instructor that every student wanted. He had a great combination of brains and humor that made you want to learn. His love and passion for his job was second to none. He will be deeply missed but not forgotten. I will always carry his teaching spirt with me. My deepest condolences go out to his family.
