I grew up with Jake McCauley, but had only spoken to him sparingly since high school. We had both joined the Army, but hadnt seen each other since.

I saw him at a bar in Park City over Thanksgiving and called out his name from afar, unsure if hed recognize me. He immediately stopped what he was doing and excitedly said hi. We hit the ground running and caught up, laughing and having a good time. We shared stories about being infantrymen, how much it sucked and how it was also the best job wed ever had. Seeing Jake was the highlight of my night, and I was so glad to see he was loving life and happy to be on his path.

The Wednesday service was lovely. At the luncheon, it was comforting to talk about Jake, hear stories from others and watch the wonderful slide shows - brought back lots of memories! Jake was always a smiley, energetic boy with his signature bright blue eyes & blonde hair. I remember him fondly from Cub Scouts, birthday parties and school activities with my son. Keith and Kathy - you are wonderful parents to Jake and I wish you comfort in the knowledge that he lived his life to the fullest.
