Jacob "Jack" Pawchak, age, 80, born December 1, 1935, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, October 9, 2016 in Monticello, IN.
He is survived by his beloved companion, Judy Dutko; loving children, Jacob, Philip, Kim, and Donna (Rich Lee) Wireman; cherished grandchildren, Jacob, Deanna, Aaron, Christin, Joshua, James, Tori, and Tyler; cherished great-grandchildren, Ewan and two in the oven; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Mary (nee Kaiser) Pawchak; dear sisters, Mary Minarich and Irene Grabavoy; and son, David (2012).
Jack was a veteran of the United States Navy.
Jack was born and raised in Joliet, IL where he enjoyed people and living life to the fullest. He volunteered at his church for many years. In 1989 he moved to Monticello, Indiana where he and Judy owned and operated Madonna Resort on Lake Shafer by Indiana Beach for nearly 30 years. He loved lake activities such as boating, jet skiing, and water skiing. He enjoyed meeting and getting to know all the people that stayed at the resort over the years in addition to spending time with his children and grandchildren during the summers on the lake. Jack and Judy travelled the world. He especially loved Mexico and enjoyed sharing stories of his many trips.

Funeral Services for Jacob "Jack" Pawchak will begin on Monday, October 17, 2016 at Annunciation Byzantine Catholic Church, 14610 S. Will Cook Rd, Homer Glen, IL 60491. Jack will lie-in-state from 9:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Visitation for Jack will be on Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL 60435. A Parastas service will be held at 7:00 p.m.
