Jacob PREVOST Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 26, 2011.
Jacob Michael Prevost, 15, of Marquette, died unexpectedly Friday afternoon, August 26, 2011 as a result of an ATV accident. He was born November 25, 1995, in Cody, Wyoming, a son of Dr. Michael J. and Wendy J. (Wirth) Prevost. Jake was attending Marquette High School and would have been a sophomore. He was an athlete, participating in junior varsity football as a running back, running track as a sprinter and weightlifting. Other interests included fishing as well. Jake enjoyed children and recently started a job working with kids in the Lake Superior Christian Church Daycare where he and his family were members. A dream of his was to one day get a tattoo on his arm with the encouraging scripture verse, Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through God who strengthens me." Jake will be remembered by those who knew him as someone who was a motivator, having a quick whit, sometimes the class clown and an athlete who loved his "football family". He is survived by his parents, Dr. Michael and Wendy Prevost of Marquette; twin brothers, Matthew J. and Jared T. Prevost of Marquette; grandparents, Tom & Jackie Prevost of Midland, MI, Don & Joan Dzioba of Cody, WY and Michael Wirth of Sanford, MI; great-grandmother, Martha McMahon of Lakeland, FL; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Lake Superior Christian Church. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jerry Kizzire officiating. Interment will be in Park Cemetery. The Marquette High School Junior Varsity Football team will serve as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Lake Superior Children's Ministry at 393 State Hwy. M-553, Marquette, MI 49855 or Marquette High School Friends of Football. The Canale-Tonella Funeral Home is assisting the family where memories may be shared at www.canalefuneral.com
