Over my 31 years at Jake's restaurant Jake had become like a second father to me. We would talk nightly about many topics including travel, sports, politics, and of course the restaurant. I will miss him dearly and it was my pleasure working for him over the years. He taught me so much and he is responsible for my lifelong career in the bussiness. My heart goes out to the family and I too feel your pain.

It was my pleasure to work for Jake for over thirty years. He was a great mentor and a generous man who shared his talents with all. His penchant for fine food was to keep it fresh and uncomplicated. My condolences to Mary Ellen and his family.

Connie, Ann, Charlie, John and Mary Ellen,
I remember being introduced to escargo at the Villa Fiesta by Jake and Connie in 1965 or '66 I think. Jake cooking burgers in the courtyard in Riomar one Sunday. He was always so interesting and I always felt comfortable around him and Mary Ellen.
Jake will be a missing personality in Vero and I am truly sorry for your loss.

I never knew Mr. Replogle, but I did know his son Charley. The Ocean Grill has provided enjoyment and fine food to the residents and non-residents of Vero for many years. My mother eats there at least once per week. Mr. Replogle, we all thank you for this fine legacy of yours. My condolences to the family.

My sincere condolences to the Replogle family. Charley, Mary Ellen and Lee, we are so sorry. My late husband and I were fortunate enough to know Jake since the 1970's in Vero Beach. He was a gentleman, friendly and a wonderful host and entrepreneur. He always knew how to make the person he was talking to feel like the only person in the world. I thank him for all his kindness to my family for over 30 years. Vero Beach will never be the same. My prayers and thoughts to you all.
